Of all the mousetraps that I have used over the years, this is the best one. Here is why:

1. Unlike other traps, this is not only effortless to set with one simple click, but is also easy to place and move around to different locations once it is set. There is no worry about the trap going off in your hand when you place it on the ground or pick it up, as has happened to me with cheaper mousetraps. Recently I had a mouse problem in my kitchen, and after a few days when no more mice were caught, I easily moved some loaded traps into my garage. I could not easily do this with other mousetraps.

2. The bait holder is just the right size for a dab of peanut butter or piece of cheese.

3. The trap works well for both adult and baby mice.

4. It is very easy to lift up the trap and dispose of it after a mouse is caught without worrying about coming into contact with the mouse.

5. You can also easily reuse this trap if you want because you can just press the front to release the dead
mouse into a trash can, and can reset the trap without ever having to touch where the mouse was caught. I just did that the other day.

Bottom line: Although this costs more than some simpler traps, it is worth every penny for convenience, ease of use, and effectiveness.

I spent 20 minutes trying to set one of those old fashioned mouse traps and finally after snapping my thumb I gave up and went to the store and bought these kind.

It was easy to set and after a few hours got the mouse.

I would recommend.

I unfortunately discovered a mouse problem while doing some repairs to a kitchen cabinet. So I went to the store to find some traps, I knew I wanted a T-Rex style trap like they use on Verminators and found quite a few different options. I went with this one because I knew the Ortho brand and had good luck with their products in the past.

The trap is designed pretty well for being plastic. Good sturdy build, it has 'teeth' on the top and bottom to clamp down and the spring is good and strong so it snaps with some force. The bait tray is fixed to the bottom of the trap, the trigger is a red plate that is raised up around the bait tray so the mouse has to step on it to get to the bait triggering the trap. For bait, i use some peanut butter.

Setting the traps are easy so I did that and set out four traps. Within two hours I had rid the house of two rodents. The trap does what it says, both instantly and i assume painlessly killed the mice. Much more humane than glue traps or poison traps. The down side to this trap is that you do see the mouse, you have to empty the trap which is just as easy as setting it but the dead mouse is there in full view.

The other thing I liked is the value of these traps. The disposable ones cost more than these and have to be replaced after each capture. These Ortho ones are cheaper and once you catch a mouse, you empty it and reset it.

If you're looking for a mouse trap, these work and are a great value. The only negative is that you have to empty it after a catch which may both some people.
