Did a new install. Better than moving the OS, fresh install and feels like brand new PC but BETTER.... Using windows 7 with the windows experience test my primary harddrive was rated 4.5 now it is rated 7.2. My old HDD was Seagate 7200 rpm 500 gig barracuda. I am super happy with the performance with loading and internet explorer use does not have any lock ups unless the site is buggy. My gaming experience much better, I only have one game RIFT and loading to new areas is quick. Toons pop out faster and the game just moves smoother from running it on my old HDD. I went with the 96 GB cause wanted the extra size. I only have the OS, MS office and Rift installed onto the HDD everything is going to be installed on the old drive. Showing total 89.4 GB total 41.2 GB available still alot of space for other programs or games. When I get a Laptop I will be putting one of these or a bigger SSD into it. Worth the cash or credit to get this or similar groduct.

I have an Early-2008 MacBook Pro that was beginning to show its age. Apps would take a while to open, and I would get frequent "beachballing" when switching tabs in Safari or Word. I was debating if it was time for a new machine, but since the price after rebate was so low, I figured I'd give it a shot and see if I could extend the life of my machine for a while. After much research, I figured this was the optimal drive for a Mac based on its SATA 2 connection, and integrated garbage collection (as most Macs don't support TRIM on third-party SSDs).
Installation was tough (lots of screws and delicate ribbon cables), but that's an Apple issue, not a problem with this drive. I had to get rid of a lot of junk on the HDD before all my stuff would fit on the smaller SSD, but I probably should have gotten rid of that stuff a long time ago anyway. I used SuperDuper to duplicate the installed HDD to the SSD (attached via USB enclosure that came with the bundle version of this SSD), and then followed the installation instructions that are available on youtube. Booted up, and viola, I was ready to go.
I've never used an SSD before and I gotta say I was totally blown away by the speed difference. Apps open almost instantly (even big apps like Word or Photoshop), and iPhoto flies. Battery life seems significantly extended as well. Now my iMac seems slow! I definitely recommend getting an SSD if you don't need tons of storage space (or if you can exile your big files to an external disk), and this one works great in my Mac.
